What August Carries

Hi Aabi,

Today is the last day of your Birthday Month, my sweet baby. ❤️

This is the month when you brightened our home and our lives with your arrival, when your Aara Didi decorated your “Home Sweet Home” in Chandigarh with beautifully written words: “WELCOME HOME AABI”, and received you in her arms with hugs and kisses. Me and your Cheeta, Shashi Maani, sang the song, “Aaiye… Aapka… Intezaar Hai…”, which you may not have understood, but which meant, we are all waiting for you with so much excitement and so much Love. ❤️

As August begins, every single day brings a fresh wave of all those memories that are wrapped around my heart. You may be far away, but I can feel your presence everywhere around me.

I walked for you every single day of this month with the Red Nose Foundation Community, and with every step, it felt as if you were walking beside me. With every breath, I was talking to you and listening to your cute little voice saying, “Naani… Naani…” ❤️

On your Birthday, August 26th, me, your Maamu-Maami, Naanu, Chachu-Chachi, your most loving Deeshee and Mishu—your little brother, whom you have not met yet, but who looks at your pictures and tries to recognize his Aabi Didi—gathered all your cousins together to celebrate your day, which we call AABI’S DAY.

We celebrated with all the things that bring a smile to your face: Pasta, Pizza, Lollipops, colourful Cupcakes and ICE-CREAM! ✌️❤️

Everybody painted Stars and Hearts with messages for you, which you might have received. We talked about you and played “Aabi Games.”

You know, Aabi, it is so difficult and heavy to do all this when you are so far away, but it is your energy, your Love, your Cosmic Power that surrounds me. It cannot be dimmed and makes me do something special for my Aabu.

Each day of this month, I planned from morning to night to make Aabi’s Day a special day.

Aabu, your Mom, Dad and Didi think about you day and night. They plan and make every effort to make this month meaningful and joyful, just like you, for the world around them. And you must be receiving all that Love and all those hugs. ❤️

When I miss you the most, that gentle breeze of Love from PERTH washes over me and gives me a little comfort.

It feels like you have become our Guiding Light, my sweet little bundle of JOY. ✨
