Birthday Love: Happy 4th

Hey, Aabi… Happy 4th birthday, our baby.

Today, you are turning four. A day we once imagined celebrating with balloons, cake, laughter, and little gifts wrapped especially for you. We often wonder what you would like now… what your favourite colour would be, what toys would make you smile, and what gift Chachu and I would choose for our little sunflower.

But today, you are celebrating somewhere far beyond our reach… somewhere beautiful, in heaven. And while we cannot hold you, hug you, or watch you blow out four little candles, our hearts still celebrate you in their own quiet, aching way.

Our little sunflower, life has never been the same since you left. Your tiny absence has left a space that nothing and no one can ever fill. We still look for you in little moments, in memories, in the sky, and sometimes, in the warmth of the sun.

Chachu and I often wonder—what would you be like today? What would make you laugh? What would you ask for on your birthday? We would give anything just to know… just to hear your voice once more and tell you how deeply, endlessly loved you are.

You may be in heaven, Aabi, but you will always be a part of us. You are not here in our arms, but you live forever in our hearts. You will always be our little baby, our little sunshine, our forever little sunflower.

Today, Chachu said that Aabi and I share the same birthday month… and I smiled and told him that Aabi and I share the same number too. Her birthday adds up to 8 — 2+6=8 — and mine does too — 1+7=8. Maybe it’s just a number, but to me, it feels like another little thread connecting me to you, Aabi… a connection that even heaven couldn’t take away. And maybe that is the hardest part… now we only have these little talks with us—the ones where we still mention you, find small connections to you, and smile through our tears.

Happy 4th birthday, Aabi. Wherever you are, we hope you are surrounded by love, light, and the most beautiful happiness. And we hope somehow, somewhere, you can feel us celebrating you today.
